LexiRef
About LexiRef
Add references by DOI, arXiv ID or a title search, or import BibTeX, RIS and CSL-JSON files from Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote, JabRef or Google Scholar. Organize them with collections, tags, favorites and notes, and find and merge duplicates in one click. Thirteen reference types are supported, from journal articles and books to datasets, patents, standards and software.
Cite in APA 7th, IEEE, MLA 9th, Chicago (author–date), Harvard (Cite Them Right) or Vancouver, with in-text citations and full reference-list entries. Copy as rich text and the italics survive when you paste into Word, Google Docs or an email, or export a bibliography as Word (.docx), RTF, HTML or plain text. The companion Word add-in inserts citations as fields, numbers them automatically for IEEE and Vancouver, switches styles for the whole document and refreshes the bibliography with one click.
The Integrity check verifies your references against Crossref retraction notices and OpenAlex (Retraction Watch data) and flags anything retracted or withdrawn before it reaches your manuscript. Everything lives on your PC: the only network requests are the DOI look-ups and integrity checks you start yourself, and you can export your data at any time as BibTeX, RIS, CSL-JSON or a LexiRef library file.
